    Good natural tune
Very natural, great for the price no cons at all. I have a high level competition car audio system for frame of reference. I am using a very nice inexpensive dongle DAC FOSI audio DS2 to drive them. I think these would be even better with a non dongle DAC where there was a little breathing room with more power but considering the low cost of this combo I am extremely pleased. You could listen to these a very long time with no fatigue. This is not for bassheads. This is not for people that turn up the treble and think that it adds detail (harsh).Just nice natural tonality. This is great finding something that is good value and performance.

    Worth it
I was looking for good quality studio quality headphones. I have the Shure earbuds and they have lasted many years with no real issues and have great sound quality so I decided to purchase these and see how it went. I wasn’t disappointed. Very comfortable and sturdy construction. The sound quality is crisp and detailed. The chord length is 10 feet so you won’t have any issue with length. The size can fit any head I would assume with many adjustments available. Would recommend.

    Shure fixed the 840’s.
Shure listened then acted upon recommendations from users and reviewers over the past ten years and improved the sound presentation nicely.

Amazing headphones… just not for all types of music production
I bought these headphones to replace a recently broken pair of Shure SRH440s. Those Shures had an aggressively brutal midrange that gave me confidence that what I was mixing would translate well to other speakers and headphones. I bought these thinking they might also do the job, since they’re marketed as “Critical Listening Headphones”.Make no mistake, they sound amazing. What really sets them apart are the deep lows. The bass isn’t just loud: there’s a level of detail to them that isn’t matched by, say, the Audio Technica’s ATH-M50x. You can really hear what specific bass frequency is played through them, as well as the varying levels of amplitude. The sound is also fairly neutral despite the strong bass. They don’t sound like bass-boosted commercial headphones, they’re just quality headphones with strong bass response. While the bass response is amazing, it just doesn’t have that mid-range definition that is critical for someone who mixes rock music. You might be able to get away with it for EDM or hip-hop, but the ability to really surgically define the midrange is crucial when you’re working with instruments you recorded yourself and not just samples. Furthermore, the flimsy non-braided cable seems like a slap in the face since even my cheaper SRH440s came with a braided one. The difference in cable quality is night and day.I’m going to keep these because the bass response and soundstage make them a pleasure to listen to. If I were a DJ, I’d also love to use these live because the sound isolation is top notch. However, for the purpose of mixing rock music they fall short. In the meantime I’ll continue to use my ATH- M50x for that purpose, and maybe upgrade to a Sennheiser HD6xx.

    great monitoring headphones
I love these headphones! First of all, they are very comfortable and I can wear them for hours at a time without feeling uncomfortable. They also look very cool and match my setup, so I also love that about them. The sound is also very good. When listening to music with these, I can hear every single instrument which makes for a very pleasant listening experience. I also have been using them to monitor my Shure Mv7x to make sure it sounds good, and I can hear every little detail and make the necessary adjustments to make sure my mic sounds good when I record! Overall, these headphones are great and of high quality. I’m glad I purchased these instead of a some cheaper no name brand pair of headphones.

    Perfect
These are great. After trying out many different headphones (m50x, dt 770, dt 900 pro, focal listen, sony mdr 1am2, mdr 7506, etc) I’ve settled on these. They are the perfect combo of comfort and sound quality. All the other headphones were either uncomfortable (most of them) or comfortable but subpar sound. Absolutely love these Shure headphones, surprised more people aren’t talking about them.

    Great headphones!!!
All these weird comments about them being heavy. That’s exactly why I bought them. They feel great on my head and the sound is clear and loud. As far as the weight thing is concerned, I’m not sure why it’s a “complaint”…it’s not like they weigh 45 pounds and your neck is tired, they’re headphones, they sit on your head and you listen to music. I am using them for DJ’ing and they’re fabulous!! Well worth the money.

    Awesome 5 star quality
I read a lot of reviews on many different headphones before I bought these Shure headphones. I will say these are the best, crisp, heavy sound while you’re behind the DJ mixer playing music and matching music. Hands down well worth every dollar. One thing they could have improved was the actually wire, it’s super long and thin, maybe I’m overthinking it, I wonder how long the wire will last. Overall 5 stars.

I’m a ceo and a professional mentor. This headset is just right for critical listening and direct monitoring.I use it with both Rode podcast mic & Shure MV7.Satisfactory product for direct monitoring and critical listening (my review is not for singing purposes; the review is for for lectures and consultations such as for zoom meetings).

Enjoyable, but the overall design is so uncomfy it hurts after 5 mins. The smallest movements of the head changes the tones. Also bleeds out before a comfortable volume level, and it suffers in the mids. Its cable is too stiff, overall overpriced.
