Great head-mounted camera!
This is a really good helmet/head cam, and in my opinion much better than the normal GoPro form factor. The controls are simple to use without having to see them, and the ability to easily rotate and adjust the lenses makes aiming your video nearly effortless.

Camera is durable and video quality is great! Audio, as other have stated is not the best, but that could be due to Aircraft Noise as well (only use it for jumps). I like the variety of mounting brackets that come with it, it give you ALOT of options.

Excellent Product Design and Functionality
After searching for camera I can use for motorsports, I found this RunCam. This is really well thought out product. First, unlike other side mount helmet cams, the camera is mounted on a flexible stalk so you can position it ideally–the head also rotates so you adjust it to be level regardless of the angle of the mount on the side of the helmet. THis is better way to mount then action cams that use GoPro type mounts on the top of the helmet. Second, unlike action cams where you have to fiddle with multiple buttons to turn on and then record, the RunCam starts recording immediately after you turn it on. Because it is side mounted, its super easy to access the switch–you don’t need to have a wrist band mounted remote as with action cams. And to let you know that recording has started, you get a vibration signal which is strong enough to be felt through your helmet. Video quality is excellent. The only limitation is that there is no audio, but that’s not a problem for my use case, as I’m planning on combining the video with other video from the vehicle that has audio.

Bad app and WiFi ok Camera.
The camera is ok, but the app and WIFI connectivity are trash. Camera locks up frequently when using WiFi to control. Have to unscrew the battery to reset. Crazy.Plan on using SD card to xfer files.

No battery and no hose clamp, seriously? Had to buy the battery separately, don’t know where to get the hose clamp though, what a disappointment.

Contour Remains King
If this camera didnt have that god awful flexible neck, it’d be perfect.When comparing the features and specs against other cameras, the Runcam on the surface appears to be the best bang for your buck. Small and lightweight, adjustable settings and large recording capacity, the use of 18650 batteries (very common in airsoft and firearms) and built in lens protection.There is unfortunately an extremely flexible issue with the camera system that defeats its core purpose. The flexible neck is undoubtedly the worst part about this camera. While a good idea in theory, this design creates massive snag hazards on your head, and, if youre like me, you’ll spend more time trying to readjust the camera head back to where you had it via the app rather than just using it.If RunCam can release a redesigned version, with the camera head mounted directly to the body, it’ll be fantastic. A high quality camera that I can still run my NVGs with? Absolutely.Until something like that comes along, I’ll be sticking with the tried and true Contour cameras, despite their downsides to modern cameras.

Let me say this for the price it does the job .yes there is flaw and yes can be frustrating. over all it works for me and my dog . Works great as a dog cam get to see what my boy dose when he venture off . Video is great 👍

NOTE: You will need the runcam legacy app to use this thing. Honestly, it gets the job done. One of my concerns is that it may cause (some, but noticeable) interference with some headsets when you are using Wi-Fi function, but it is not that bad to the point of rendering said headset unusable. Honestly it works.

For the price this is an absolute steal! Plenty of customisable options in the settings to mess around with to get the perfect recording desired. The picture quality in 4k is really good, with no stutter or lag. Can record in 4k with up to 30fps and even in 1080p it looks great. Love how you can record in landscape and portrait by just twisting the lens arm around. The app is great too, just download the videos onto your phone library. I love how you can turn the led lights off too for a stealthier look. (I haven’t used this on the field yet but I have run around the house a few times 😂. Will update when Iv tried it at my next airsoft session.)

Returned this product. Video quality is good. But can’t control it without phone, and the only ways to do that is via a special wifi. Difficult to connect. If it had Bluetooth or on device controls it would be an ok choice. But since it’s wifi, when the camera is connected you have no access to internet or data.
