It’s hefty but small with amazing sound
This little hefty compact speaker is worth every penny. But I got it during prime days & was $100 less. I can hear every little nuances of sound from rain drops to bongo drums in background to side changing sounds of back up vocals to the main forefront of voice. The battery life is not too shabby & the portability of this makes it even more useful when I do yard work or just enjoying the weather on my deck with the premium sound coming from this speaker. Or when I listen to it in bed & have the volume way down, the integrity of the sound doesn’t go down. It remains absolutely the great sound I want with clear voices & sounds I expect in an upscale speaker. I would recommend this to people that are used to quality speakers that can be played loud or super quiet without loosing quality sound. Now if Bose can make a way lighter speaker of this size would be great, thus the one star ⭐️ minus.

Jumped on a price drop to get a really high quality sound in a high quality package!
The sound on this thing is so clear and nice even on stock settings. I did a lot of internet searching to find the unit I wanted. I really like the warm Bose sound without overdoing it on bass (I am not always in a party). The unit is well made and high quality. The cost at list price is very high, but catch a sale (like I did) and jump on it fast! Pairing is multi-pairing and can connect to your phone and computer at the same time. EQ adjustments if you need or want to, are through a phone app only. It does require more juice to charge, so it does come with its own charger and USB-C cable. the Blue Dusk color is aesthetically pleasing and glad to have a non-black speaker in my home. In addition to bluetooth, it has Aux plug in capability, which I will still need to try. The volume easily fills up a room at less than 50% strength. For use around the home this is perfect! I was thinking between this and the Soundlink Flex and I am glad to have this richer sound. I think you do get what you pay for.

Great Bluetooth speaker if you want to jam out
I’ve had the Bose SoundLink revolve for over 5 years and it has been great but wanted a little more oomph when using outside on the patio. This sure does deliver and has the same great sound I’m used to. It’s almost a bit heavy on the bass which is crazy for such a small form factor but the sound 50% volume and up it really balances out and sounds great. You can turn the base down through the app. Would highly recommend if your looking for something that somehow replicates a much larger setup but you can still pickup and move around. Have had it a couple weeks and still on first charge cycle so for my usage, a couple hours here and there, mostly used on weekends, this sure delivers. We live near a highway so sometimes it’s loud and this allows us to easily hear the music no matter what’s going on outside without it needing to be maxed out. Inside it’s almost too much for what I need. Two downfalls to be aware of. It doesn’t work with all other sound links, totally different app which is annoying. I wished I could pair the max with my revolve to have the music synced inside and out. My SoundLink revolve is already 5 years old, so might just be that model but disappointed either way given how they promote the “SoundLink” branding. Also seems to struggle with lower volumes when controlling up and down from your phone, mine is a pixel for ref. Meaning it jumps quite a bit in volume when clicking up one level around 30%, so fine turning for use inside is not ideal, would be best suited for jamming inside. The SoundLink revolve volume is a lot more linear from low to high where this SoundLink max seems to follow along more of a log scale. I did notice it seemed to increase in smaller increments using the physical button on the speaker. Since I really only use outside, it’s not a nuisance for me.Update after 1 month… Knocking 2 stars off since it has excessive battery drain and poor app performance. While sitting powered off, it looses like 20+ percent in a week. After looking for support on the issue, it seems like it’s the way the product works. Many have had theirs replace and same story. None of older Bose peoducts do this passive battery drain. So it will be bricked if it sits too long, like a month without being used. During summer this won’t be a problem but it will likely brick over winter for my use case. The “new” app thery force you to install that’s not compatible with almost all of their other products is constantly running in background if speaker is around, like at home. Ironically, you can’t even turn it on without physically turning pushing the buttonon topso what the heck is it always syncing. My older Bose products always could be turned on with phone even without the bose app, just having Bluetooth and selecting it from your pair list would turn them on. Those older products also didn’t have passive battery drain when turned off, so what the heck. Seems inexcusable to me for such a premium product. I no longer recommend even though the sound is what I’m looking for. Too bad

Excellent speaker but overpriced because of the name
I have been waiting for an excellent sale price to purchase the sound link max for almost a year, finally Black Friday $100 off, so I jumped on it. Fast one day delivery and securely packaged. Awesome crisp sound and it gets to a pretty decent volume while still sounding excellent. I had purchased two JBL charges last year I think it’s the model 5 what ever version came out last year. I was very impressed with them and was expecting the Bose to blow them away, but sadly the only real difference is the price, I got two JBLs for less than the one soundlink max. It’s a great speaker and I am keeping it but you definitely pay more for the Bose name. My Bose sound bar is about five years old and going strong, Bose is always well built, the JBL speakers are under a year old so i cannot speak on durability compared to Bose, but in sound almost even and price JBL is much lower.

I bought this speaker about a year ago as an upgrade for my old Bose speaker. After using it every day, I can honestly say I love this speaker! With anything though, it does have its pros and cons.Pros:- great sound- bluetooth connects quickly- can charge your phone from the speaker- can use the Bose app to customize the sound- water resistantCons:- battery does not last very long when the speaker is playing at its loudest volume (usually 1 full day playing at its loudest volume)- charges slowly (~5-6 hours)Overall, it’s a great speaker and I recommend it. I mainly use mine in my house, so the battery and charging doesn’t bother me. However, if you’re looking for something that will last days without being charged, this may not be the speaker for you.

This portable Bose speaker is everything I was looking for—compact, powerful, and crystal clear. The sound quality is exceptional, with rich bass and crisp highs, even at higher volumes. It’s super easy to connect via Bluetooth, and the battery life lasts all day, making it perfect for beach days, backyard hangouts, or just listening around the house. The build is sleek and sturdy, and it’s surprisingly durable for such a stylish speaker. Whether you’re using it indoors or on the go, this speaker delivers consistent, high-quality sound.Highly recommend if you’re looking for premium sound in a portable size!

Bose has made a winner. A durable bluetooth 5.0 speaker that can be paired with a second Bose speaker to create a true stereo image. Excellent battery life, mine has gone for more than 8 hours at a time at LOUD volume and still going strong… this battery just doesn’t die. Case is splash, rain, and shower resistant. Also, the casing is made of silicon, not rubber, so it won’t get sticky or gummy like most portable speakers do with age. I connected it to my Home Theatre setup and there is no noticeable delay in audio/video sync. It has a convenient handle to help transport it since it is not that light, but when it comes to speakers, heavier is better. Makes for a great gift, too. Did I mention, it sounds as good as the Sonos, if not better?
