I stand corrected. It is genuine. …and it works!
Initially I thought the Sony 28-70mm lens I purchased from an Amazon reseller was an off-brand with Sony labeling on it. You know, possibly some cheap knock off.It appeared lighter than my original lens of the same type. However, now that I have put them side by side, I can confirm it is an actual OEM Sony Lens.I purchased this lens for my back-up Sony A7ii camera, which I use when I am unsure where I am going to be hanging out. If it gets lost or stolen, I won’t cry. I have older Minolta lens for that camera, but they require a motorized adapter, which quickly drains the small battery that the Sony a7ii can handle. Plus the Minolta lenses cannot handle all of the focusing modes of a Sony lens.I took the lens and the Sony a7ii for a run today at our state botanical garden. These photos are the results and it performs just as well as my original 28-70mm lens.I’ve seen this lens on other websites at over $300 and couldn’t justify the expense, since I had one copy of the lens already. But at less than $250, I snapped it up.It work perfectly well, and I am happy with it.

Could be sharper, but it’s a kit lens; all that matters is the flexible focal range and entry price-point. Does what it’s supposed to do well.

Beautifully Clean, Right Out of The Box
Not sure what I was expecting with a refurbished lens, but it appeared to be as good as new upon delivery. Early photographic and video testing show the lens performs very well. Even a review of enlarged images taken in shade and sunny conditions were incredibly clean and sharp, with colors as experienced with the naked eye. Autofocus and metering functions paired very well with the camera on this E Mount. I’m glad I didn’t have to pay full retail for a lens of this quality.

The lens is super basic, it doesn’t have the option to “swith” manual focus or auto focus switch like Canon camera lenses, the camera does the option but still..
